  • Responsible for organizing, developing and implementing the Life,PA,Travel, and Medical operations - Personal Insurances - at Subsidiaries & Affiliated Companies level ( SAC )
  • Developing Personal Insurances products for SAC and assists in the preparation of their marketing strategy to ensure adequate market penetration / market share/ product positioning in the area of competence.
  • Assisting SAC in setting up business plan / targets and monitors achievement of the same. Co-ordinates with marketing / production departments concerning measures for business promotion and market research activity.
  • Evaluating on an on-going basis - the underwriting, claim settlements and life investment guidelines, reinsurance policies, overall organization structure, manpower and the controls being used in the underwriting, claims and reinsurance function.
  • Recommending policy design, pricing and suggests modification and improvements to policy covers and pricing in consultation with SAC designated Actuary.
  • Maintaining effective and good relations with SAC and brokers / consultants and provides excellent customer service to ensure all SAC are satisfied business partners.
  • Negotiating Pricing / premiums for SAC large clients / schemes and develops quotations for such clients in a timely manner.
  • Assisting SAC in the negotiations and settlement for large claims and ensures timely recovery of reinsurance proportion.
  • Monitoring the quality and development of the subordinate staff at Regional Office Supervising the proper staff selection and training at SAC level and ensures proper delegation of underwriting and claims authorities.
  • Recommending actuaries and other consultants and take part in the negotiations leading to their nomination.
  • Tacking an active and leading role in the negotiations of the respective reinsurance treaties and ensures excellent service form leading reinsurers and other reinsuring underwriters.
  • Controlling the management of respective reinsurance treaties and facultative placements, and ensures accurate and timely submission of periodical technical accounts, profit commission statements and renewal information.
  • Assisting the COO in the preparation of yearly budget for the Regional Office and reviews SAC relevant budgets on annual basis.
  • Evaluating and recommending software systems for use in the administration of Personal Insurances products and recommends enhancements at SAC and Regional Office levels.
  • Signing quotations, policies, credit / debit notes, technical reinsurance accounts, slips, closings, treaty wordings and related documentation and approving claim in accordance with the Authority and Approval guidelines.
  • Signing cheques and bank transfers in accordance with designated authority.
  • Deputizing and assisting the COO in the administration and management activities of the Regional Office.
  • Playing an active role in assisting with formulating company strategies, motivation, training and development of team members.

Assistant General Manager, Life Operations & Reinsurance (Life & Non-Life)
  • Operational responsibility for the Life & Life Marketing Departments of 20 staff and six agencies. The two departments handle all life related matters from product development, marketing & promotion to underwriting, policy services and claims handling. Further, the two departments manage individual as well as corporate clients for group policies.
  • Operational responsibility for the Reinsurance Department of 4 staff . All life and non-life, marine and non-marine re-insurance is managed by this department, including revision , updates and renewals through extensive discussions with our European reinsurance in Belgium , Switzerland and England, which involved extensive foreign travel and negotiation with a number of reinsurance companies.
  • In 1984, commissioned to set up an Information Technology area for the company, carried out the initial feasibility study, negotiated supplier contracts for both hardware and software and recruited the necessary technical staff.
  • In 1994, commissioned to set up a company division in the newly created Palestinian Self-rule Territory. This task involved the set up of offices, 11 staff and 4 agency recruitment, application for trading licenses, network link with head Office in Amman and travel to the UK and Switzerland for treaties negotiation with our European Underwriters. Within 6 months, this division was fully operational, offering all classes of insurance to individual and corporate clients.
  • In 1995, commissioned to carry out a feasibility study for establishing a credit Insurance department. A class of insurance that is totally new to the insurance industry in Jordan.
  • In 1996, was heavily involved in carrying out a feasibility study for the establishment of a joint venture with ERC Frankona of England to set up medical clinics and medical insurance consultancy services company. Anderson consulting were contracted to carry out the research. As a result a new company was founded "American Medical Clinics" with a working capital of $3.5 million of which I was secretary to the board.
  • Presented a variety of lectures and public presentations on life insurance in Jordan, Lebanon and Palestine to students, insurers and agents in both languages Arabic and English also had a company published book on insurance.
